The 2nd edition of the Maisons Pariente Prize: An Art Competition to Showcase Emerging Talents

Last year, Maisons Pariente launched a new art competition designed to celebrate and promote the emerging art scene in France. Created to mark the group’s fifth anniversary, this prize symbolizes the Pariente family’s deep commitment to contemporary artistic creation.

The Pariente family’s passion for art has been passed down through several generations. Each of the group’s hotels—Crillon le Brave in Provence, Lou Pinet in Saint-Tropez, Le Coucou in Méribel, and Le Grand Mazarin in the heart of the Marais district in Paris—features a rich selection of artworks, sourced from the family’s private collection or presented by renowned curators. The primary goal of this competition is to highlight the emerging French art scene and support promising talents in their creative endeavors. By providing a platform for exhibition and financial recognition, the Maisons Pariente Prize aims to shine a spotlight on up-and-coming artists.

The new Prestigious Jury of the Artistic Competition

For this second edition, the candidates will be required to conceive a totem based on a theme designated by the entire jury: “How does the past resonate in our present, and can the intimate become universal?”.

The Maisons Pariente Prize jury is composed of nine prominent figures from the worlds of art, design, and architecture.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Amélie Maison d’Art gallery in Paris, in partnership with Taittinger. The finalists’ works will be exhibited there.

The winners will benefit from increased visibility among both French and international audiences.

Candidates are invited to create an original artwork based on a given theme.
The work may take various forms: photography, video, painting, collage, sculpture, ceramics, etc. It must be transportable and, depending on the medium, equivalent to an A1 format.

It is essential that candidates respect the application deadline of 31 March 2026 at midnight for the submission of their dossier.

Prizes and Benefits

The three winners of the Maisons Pariente Prize will receive attractive awards:

First Prize: €5,000 and an exhibition of the artwork in one of the group’s properties
Second Prize: €3,000
Third Prize: €2,000

This exhibition in prestigious, publicly accessible venues, combined with associated media coverage, represents a unique opportunity for young artists to gain visibility on the contemporary art scene.

Selected from among numerous applications, ten artists had managed to capture the jury’s attention through the uniqueness of their worlds, the sensitivity of their vision, and the strength of their artistic approach.

Thomas Noui

Thomas Noui

A designer trained at the École Camondo and co-founder of the ZBEUL studio, Thomas Noui develops a critical approach to digital technology. He is interested in the biases and imperfections of technologies, which he exploits to produce sensitive and poetic works.

“Paesina”

A dialogue between a Paesina stone and an AI algorithm, this hybrid work blends visual illusion and craftsmanship. The image becomes a carved, then stained wooden bas-relief, questioning our way of dreaming through matter and machine.

Clément Rouvier

Clément Rouvier

Interior architect and scenographer trained at École Camondo, Clément Rouvier works between Nice and Paris. His practice blends craftsmanship, memory, and movement. He revisits classical representations through subtle visual shifts.

“Warp”

In “Warp,” Clément Rouvier reinterprets an antique tapestry by creating a deconstructed relief. Pastoral scenes are fragmented and rearranged on a zigzag structure, forming a moving image. The viewer must shift position to recompose the narrative. The dream emerges from visual distortion and memory’s dislocation, in a delicate play between representation, abstraction, and recollection.

Ludmila Vatine and Léo Nataf

Ludmila Vatine and Léo Nataf

Ludmila Vatine is a designer from ENSCI, whose hybrid practice blends storytelling, material experimentation, and sensitive design. She creates objects and experiences that intertwine use, narrative, and innovation. In this project, she collaborates with Léo Nataf, a devoted dreamer and intuitive artist whose nocturnal imagination becomes a vivid source material. Together, they form a complementary duo: capturing dreams and translating them into delicate visual form, with Léo’s voice guiding Ludmila’s hand in inspired co-creation.

“What the Opal Reflects”

This piece brings Léo’s dreams to life, transcribed and illustrated in collaboration. Through their joint exploration of the unconscious, they evoke visions of fantastic animals, shifting architectures, and forgotten landscapes. Ludmila sketches these dream fragments as Léo dictates their fluid outlines. Together, they shape a poetic world between memory, invention, and emotional transmission.
